What is Astrophotography?
Light from planets, galaxies, star clusters, and nebulae is racing through the universe and occasionally we are lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time to see it. The goal of an astrophotographer is to capture as much of that light as possible using a camera and a lens. Some of these objects are small (cosmically speaking) and faint, while others are large and bright. By collecting these bits of light called photons on our camera sensors, we are able to bring out the gorgeous details and colors of some of the most fascinating places in the universe.
Discover Astro is a platform designed to spark interest and wonder in all of the things found in the night sky, through the lens of photography. Here you will find some of my best work and favorite photos, along with explanations of the targets and how I capture them. Since 2020, I have been dedicating countless hours to scouting, imaging, and processing photos of the night sky and the support from friends and family has made all the difference.
A love for the night sky
I have always had a fascination with space. There is nothing quite like dreaming about what is out there, beyond the little blue marble we call home.
I find it incredible that people can live their whole life without looking up. Let me show you some of the mesmerizing wonders that you wouldn't get to see if you never looked up.
